The Eagle Award


"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.  They shall walk and not grow weary, they shall run and not grow faint." - Isaiah 40:31


The Eagle Award is a continuing tradition of Leadership Training for Christ.  It is given to a Christian, or a Christian couple who have shown themselves to be servants to young people in the church, especially through LTC.

2000 Edgar & Alpha Newton Writers of Bible Bowl and Bible Quiz tests;  Alpha accepted the award on behalf of both after God called Edgar Home Duncan, OK
2001-4 Not awarded
2005 Nick and Colette Stewart Signing for the Deaf coordinators for GPLTC since the beginning of the convention Lawton, OK
2006 Ronnie and Stephani Swan Youth workers, and mentors at the Wilbarger Street church for many years; Church coordinators for over 10 years Vernon, TX
2007 Michael and Cathy Tyler Youth workers, and leaders of the LTC program at the Ulysses, KS congregation for over 10 years Ulysses, KS
2008 Not awarded    
2009 Nancy McWherter 20 years of service to the youth of her congregation with 7 years as LTC congregational coordinator Broken Arrow, OK

The GPLTC board has devised a plan where local LTC organizations can recognize leaders who have diligently and over a long period of time sought to develop leadership in youth through the LTC program.  Please refer to our reference manual for more information.
